Jane Stacy, an accomplished musician and educator, possesses an impressive academic background and a wealth of teaching and professional playing experience. She earned her Master of Teaching in 2009 from the University of Sydney, where her coursework covered a comprehensive range of subjects including music curriculum, education, music technology, professional experience, and choral conducting. In 1989, she completed her Graduate Diploma of Arts in Music with a major in Oboe Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts, receiving the prestigious H.E.C.S. Post Graduate Scholarship in 1988. Jane also holds a Bachelor of Music degree with a major in Oboe Performance from the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music, and a Certificate of Audio Production from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1989.
Jane Stacy brings over 30 years of extensive teaching experience as an Oboe Teacher and Woodwind Examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB). She has been actively involved in tutoring undergraduate chamber music ensembles, directing orchestral woodwind tutorials at The Victorian College of the Arts, and has held positions at various esteemed institutions, including Kambala School, The Scots College, Trinity Grammar, MLC Burwood, St. Catherine’s School Toorak, Sexey’s School, and Bruton School for Girls in Somerset, England.
Jane's professional playing career, spanning from 1985 to 2023, includes serving as Guest Principal Oboe with the State Orchestra of Victoria, collaborating with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Rantos Collegium, the Sydney Elizabethan Trust orchestra, and various Chamber Music ensembles. Beyond her teaching and playing roles, Jane Stacy is deeply committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Her dedication to music education, international teaching experiences, and exceptional professional playing make her a valuable candidate for any educational institution.
