Profile

 

James Hillier is a flautist under the guidance of Mr James Kortum. He has four years of teaching experience from private students to tutoring younger players within orchestras. He has a wide breath of knowledge that was honed by helping his mother teach private students and receiving feedback and alternative ways of thinking from masterclasses and tutors.

 

He is an enthusiastic and committed musician who enjoys teaching, performing and engaging with the community. His extensive experience as an orchestral flautist, piccolo player, violinist and teacher would be an asset to schools and institutions.

He is also able to provide Piano and Music Theory tuition. His organizational skills allow him to successfully operate in a variety of work settings both independently and as part of a team. He enjoys conducting instrumental ensembles and teaching students, providing tailored programs to suit the needs of the group or the individual. He consistently aims to direct student learning in a positive and constructive manner.
