Mr Douglas Eyre
 

 

Douglas Eyre, an esteemed musician with a rich and accomplished career, currently holds the distinguished position of Principal Bassoon and Section Leader in the Opera Australia Orchestra, a role he has excelled in since 1986.

Doug's musical journey began at the age of eleven, and under the mentorship of John Noble and Gordon Skinner, he cultivated his passion for the bassoon. His dedication to his craft led him to achieve a Bachelor of Music from the prestigious Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

In the late '80s, Doug showcased his exceptional talents as the Principal Bassoonist for the Australian Chamber Orchestra from 1987 to 1989. His prowess extends beyond Australia, having served as a Guest Principal Bassoon with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

Notably, Doug has left an indelible mark in the world of entertainment, contributing as the Principal Bassoon in a myriad of Hollywood films, television productions, advertisements, and commercial ventures. His musical finesse has added a distinctive touch to various cinematic and artistic creations.
